According to EA, over 725,000 unique players joined the beta testing of The Old Republic. The average player logged 12 hours over the 3-day Thanks-Giving holiday weekend with more than 9 million collective hours played over that duration.

EA are taking this as a very good sign. But industry analysts remain divided on weather The Old Republic will snatch players away from World of Warcraft for more than a month or two.

At the moment only time will tell, but giving World of Warcraft more competition is always a good thing for us players.
